We were able to accomplish several exciting and innovative things with these funds, including new programs that met our members where they are: at home, or seeking socialization in a congregate setting. Since the introduction of these funds, we’ve been able to provide over 430,000 meals to over 4,500 individuals. These individuals will still need to eat when the funding expires. If these impressive numbers aren’t enough – consider that these meal deliveries may be the only socialization that an older adult has on a given day. Meal delivery volunteers and workers are friendly faces that offer a smile and kind words to older adults that otherwise may not be able to visit with others. The time to act is now!
