This summer, Femi will work with Teamsters Local 117 in Washington to advocate for workers’ rights—a mission deeply rooted in his personal journey. “This fellowship is a dream come true,” Femi shared. “Admittedly, at the beginning of my journey I didn't want to be a lawyer. I was entirely content being a computer scientist, or even a blues guitarist. 🎉 Introducing the 2025–26 Roth Fellows at Iowa Law’s Writing & Academic Success Center: Lydia Berry, Theresa Eckel, and Joel Burzacott! These rising 3Ls will return as tutors for 1L and 2L students while offering mentorship and leadership within the Center. The Roth Fellows program is supported by the Roy Paul Roth Writing and Academic Success Center Fund, established in memory of Roy Roth (Iowa Law Class of 1976) by his wife, Barbara Bernhardt-Roth. Roy was a proud Iowa Law alum, member of the Iowa Law School Foundation Board, and passionate advocate for student success.
