HISTORY HERITAGE HEART The Hernando de Soto Historical Society is a notforprofit organization founded in 1939 and consists of volunteer members who foster and facilitate an appreciation of Manatee Countys Spanish American heritage. Through fundraising events and sponsorships we are able to provide educational opportunities and donate to local charities organizations and individuals. CHILDRENS PARADE PARTY IN THE PARK One of the most adorable and heartwarming events youll ever see thisParadeputs the kids in charge. Its pure and wholesome fun as floats engineered and built in schoolrooms and at home parade along the historic avenues of Palmetto from the Manatee County Fairgrounds south on 10th Avenue West and then along Fifth Street West to Lamb Park.
