"When you stop moving is the day you die!" -Trip, Team Sally Resident Member. We officially launched our first week of runs in 2025 with Team Roseville, Team Sally, and Team TC South all moving together with a perfect combination of returning Members, Alumni, and Mentors, and a growing group of new faces, both Members and Mentors, all of whom logged their first miles together this week. There was a palpable joy, comradery, and excitement amongst all our teams despite the cold, blustery, even snowy starts to their seasons. "If we can run in this, we can run in anything," one of our Resident Members at Team Roseville reminded us. It's true, we learn how to do the hard things together, right from the start! For many of our runners, very little on their path has been easy. Occasionally, even our Alumni and former Members struggle on their journeys after they leave MiMS and their respective liminal stops at their facility, and as challenging and frustrating as that can be for all involved, this week has shown us how MiMS is a safe place where our Members can return when they're ready to find their way back again. This season, we have the gift of being rejoined by several Mentors and Alumni who have gone through some recent relapses and struggles, and still found the clarity and the willingness to return to do whatever work they have left. It's never easy to take the paths that our Members take, and getting to witness and be a small part of their healing only amplifies our emotions! We're so glad they're here! Next Tuesday, on April 15, our next three teams, Team Challenge, Team Nokomis, and Team UGM all lace up their new running shoes and get together for their first miles. We can't wait to see what those miles bring, and where our season takes us all! Our first week was a huge success, and we can't do what we do without you. Thank you! Now, we WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! (fb)
