Metro Skywarn is a 501(c)(3) amateur radio organization that teaches SKYWARN severe weather spotters Metro Skywarn works with local government authorities and the National Weather Service to provide an emergency communication network to aid in the tracking, reporting, and forecasting of current or severe weather.Metro Skywarn is an organization of Amateur Radio Operators and Severe Weather enthusiasts with interests in the areas of severe weather spotting and Amateur Radio communications as a public service. This organization will operate in the Metro Area of the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota and surrounding Counties in the state of Minnesota.

Metroskywarn | Twin Cities Severe Weather Trained Spotter Network Metro Skywarn is a member of the SKYWARN network. SKYWARN is the National Weather Service NWS program of trained volunteer severe weather spotters. SKYWARN spotters support their local community and government by providing the NWS and their local emergency managers with timely and accurate severe weather reports. These reports when integrated with modern NWS technology are used to inform communities of severe weather conditions that could threaten life andor property.
