We are pleased to introduce Wha Yong (Hwayong) Shin as the new Program Manager at AHL Foundation! 🎉 Wha Yong looks forward to using contemporary art as a medium to connect Korean and American communities, fostering meaningful dialogues and making a lasting impact beyond cultural and spatial boundaries. Wha Yong Shin (she/her) is a graphic designer, social designer, and feminist activist. Her work is rooted in an alternative and radical imagination, with intersectional feminism at its core. Born and raised in Seoul, she studied Visual Communication Design at Seoul National University. After graduation, she moved to Berlin, where she explored her identity as both a designer and an activist. In 2021, she relocated to New York City and earned her Master’s degree in Design for Social Innovation at the School of Visual Arts. Since then, she has been based in New York, focusing on documenting the stories of first-generation immigrant women and advocating for the development of collective communities to address social challenges. You can check out her works here: http://hwayong.works Welcome, Wha Yong! 💫 (fb)
