Organizing for Community Control The Chinatown Community Land Trust was launched as an important tool for residents and community activists struggling for greater control of development and rooted in the belief that we have the right to our historic community. A Community Land Trust is a nonprofit communitybased corporation that acquires and keeps land for the community and never sells it. It is a tool for the community to permanently own and administer the land for the common good.
