Wednesday afternoon, St. Paul dispatched companies to a dwelling fire on the 600 block of Eustis Street. Ladder 23 arrived and reported they had a 1-story home with heavy fire on the deck on Side C. Engines 3 and 14 took the alley and both pulled their lines. Chief 1 took command and Ladder 23 searched the home while Engine 5 got a water supply to 3's and 14's. Chief 2 was safety. Crews quickly knocked down the deck fire and began overhaul. Crews found no extension in the home and all searches were negative. Saturday around 5:30 p.m., Minneapolis dispatched a first alarm assignment to the 1800 block of Talmadge Street SE for a structure fire. Engine 11 was first-in and reported heavy fire from the top floor of a 2 1/2-story duplex. Engine 19 laid a supply and backup line, Ladder 9 began a search, Chief 5 assumed command and Engine 15 was RIT. Command had Engine 19 hit some exterior fire before backing up 11's. Ladder 7 and 3 assisted with searches and Chief 3 was ISO. Engine 11 reported they had the main fire knocked down but needed truck crews to assist with extensive overhaul on the top floor.
