KEWEENAW WATERWAY LIGHTHOUSE CONSERVANCY INC
The purpose of the Keweenaw Waterway Lighthouse Conservancy (KWLC) is to preserve the historic light stations on or near the Keweenaw Waterway in Houghton County, Michigan. The Conservancy strives to preserve these lighthouses and related structures for the benefit of the general public so that their stories may be studied, their historical significance appreciated, and the physical sites and scenic views enjoyed by current and future generations of visitors and residents. KWLC works towards a goal of rehabilitating any damaged structures under the Conservancy's protection to the point that their historical attributes are no longer in danger of deterioration. The Conservancy works to research and share the historic resources under its protection with members of the public through historical and educational activities, collaborating with like-minded organizations to further the KWLC's lighthouse preservation efforts.
