Resources Our Work Contact TheGeorgia Appellate Practice Educational Resource Center Georgia Resource Center is a 501c3 nonprofit law office established in 1988 to provide free high quality representation to people on Georgias death row in state and federal habeas corpus proceedings challenging their capital convictions and death sentences and in clemency proceedings before the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles. Without the efforts of the Resource Center people under a sentence of death would have no representation at all in Georgia postconviction proceedings. Georgia is one of only two states which does not provide counsel for prisoners on death row as a matter of right.
