FIRST CARE PROVIDER.ORG is a disabled veteran-managed non-profit challenging the paradigm of disaster response. Our Mission is to serve the public by raising awareness of the need for civilian response to traumatic events and providing an implementation model for improved resilience in our communities.Civilian-based disaster programs generally either follow a preparation-based model, such as the DHS “Run, Hide, Fight” curriculum, or a response-based model, focusing primarily on hemorrhage control. While both are important, both are necessary. Our experience demonstrates that our students desire a higher standard, providing a framework for complex problem solving in a dynamic environment. Our system is the only truly all-hazard response system designed specifically for the lay public.
