Over the past year, our city has faced a rising tide of housing insecurity, and just this week, the number of New Yorkers in shelters reached an all-time high. It’s clear that the time to build additional housing is now. Urban Pathways is committed to being part of the solution in 2023. We are grateful to receive a conditional grant from Gov. Hochul and the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI), which will support us in building 101 new units of low-income and supportive housing. The ESSHI Grant will also directly create 61 supportive housing units dedicated to individuals experiencing homelessness. While this is just the beginning, each of these apartments will provide a safe, stable, and secure home for someone to build a better life. (fb)
