Greetings NCFC Members, Our May 18th meeting is soon approaching. We will have a different format for this meeting. It will still be held in our usual space (Level A Conference Room) at the NC Museum of North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences at 1:30 p.m. Rather than a guest speaker, we have had several requests from newer club members to have a workshop to showcase fossils from our collecting sites and help with ID for specimens they may have collected. So, with this in mind, we will have tables with examples from Castle Hayne, Holden Beach, Old Dock, Greens Mill Run, Fountain and Belgrade and members to talk about each of these sites. We will also have "Quarryscapes" from Clark's, Fountain, and Onslow, showing representative geology and common samples found there. There will be other sites featured in greater detail at future club meetings, as our space is somewhat limited, and not everyone is able to attend. If you have any specimens you would like to show from any of these sites, please bring them, as well as any for which you need ID help. We will work together to find out what We will have a business meeting at the end, as well. Due to the nature of this event, it will not be on Zoom. It is impractical to make this accessible remotely, so plan to come in person! It will also give us an opportunity to talk with one another and share individual knowledge and expertise.
