UPDATE: This request has been filled. Thank you, everyone! Have a great rest of your weekend. Good morning! It's Lydia with another Special Request Saturday. 📚 We're looking or new or used paperback books that meet these needs: ✅ James in West Virginia is asking for "Morning Star" by Pierce Brown to finish the trilogy. Please leave a comment if you can take care of a request so I can update the list! Requests with ➡️ are open, and those with ✅ have been filled. **Reminder: Don't forget to include the "Special Requests" label on any donations!** Mail book donations to Appalachian Prison Book Project c/o Special Requests Team PO Box 601 Morgantown, WV 26507 If you are in Morgantown, WV and want to drop off books at our office in the Aull Center, put them in the box in the closet labeled "Special Requests." If you are interested in donating to help us mail these books to the folks who requested them, we accept monetary donations as well. It costs about $5.50 to mail a book, so we need around $5.50 to pay for postage that covers this week's special requests: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?business=appalachianpbp@gmail.com We're so grateful to everyone who likes, shares, comments, and donates in response to these special request posts. Thanks to you, we're able to send incarcerated folks the books they want to read. We couldn't do this without your help! ❤️ (fb)

Are you interested in getting more involved with APBP? Do you live in or near Morgantown? We have two open positions at APBP! 🎉 We’re currently seeking a co-president and co-treasurer to join our board. APBP board members provide the support and direction our volunteer team needs to pursue our mission of providing free books and educational opportunities to people in Appalachian prisons and jails; engaging with members of our local and regional communities; and challenging mass incarceration. Joining the APBP board is an opportunity to get more involved in our grassroots nonprofit organization. If you are passionate about books, education, and justice, consider joining. Officers serve two-year terms, with the option to continue for a second term. We especially invite people who have been directly impacted by the criminal legal system to apply. Applicants are required to have at least two years of experience volunteering with APBP or a similar organization. We are looking for people based in or near Morgantown, WV, but some positions may be available remotely for the right person. And note that both of these positions would be working in collaboration with another board member. If you are interested in being on the board, please email us (appalachianpbp@gmail.com) to get detailed descriptions about each role and information on how to apply. Spread the word! 📣 Learn more about our current board members: (fb)
