VOLUNTEER EXEMPT FIREFIGHTERS BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION OF MANHASSET LAKEVILLE About Us CREATIONThe Volunteer Exempt Firefighters Benevolent Association of Manhasset Lakeville was formed in 2014 by an act of the New York State Legislature and signed into Law by Governor Andrew Cuomo as Chapter 407 of the Laws of 2014 and modified by Chapter 546 of the Laws of 2015. PURPOSE Providing relief aid and assistance to the volunteer members of such corporation who are disabled or injured in the performance of their duties and their families and to promote and safeguard the welfare of the volunteer members of the corporation. This notforprofit entity will enhance morale by providing social and recreational activities for its volunteer membership and will also promote the volunteer fire service within the territory protected by the fire department of the ManhassetLakeville Fire District. ELIGIBILITY Current Active MLFD FirefighterEMTs who are temporary members until achieving Exempt status under NYS Law.
