NATIVE AMERICANS IN PHILANTHROPY

At Native Americans in Philanthropy (NAP) and Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP), we’re intentional about the words we use to describe our communities. While our organization names include “Native American” and “Hispanic,” the communities we serve are broader than those terms suggest. In this post, we share how and why we use terms like Indigenous, Native, and Latine—and what they reflect about the communities at the heart of our missions.
