The Katie Caples Foundation is committed to increasing the number of registered organ donors. The Katie Caples Foundation is committed to increasing the number of registered organ donors and eliminating the wait for the more than 125,000 adults and children in the United States who currently are waiting for an organ transplant. Foundation proceeds underwrite organ donor registration education programs in 20 counties in northeast and northwest Florida. Since 2005 the Foundation has delivered 125 live presentations each year to more than 115,000 high school freshmen and sophomores. Additionally, the Foundation has built partnerships with area Tax Collector offices and DMVs, where 97% of all organ donor registrations occur. As a result of these programs, during the period 2006 - 2014 in a segment of the area served, the Donor Designation Rate among 15-18 year olds has increased 337%.
