International Day of Biological Diversity may still be a week away, but that doesn’t stop us from getting a head start in Cambridge each year. We spent a beautiful afternoon on the first Saturday in May at Danehy Park celebrating Biodiversity Day with our friends from Boston Birding Festival (@bostonbirdingfestival) and Native Plant Community Gardeners (@nativeplantcommunitygardeners) Danehy Park is home to the first miniforest we planted, a fitting host for this gathering of biodiversity advocates and curious minds. Together we enjoyed nature walks, birdsong, live music, toured the forest, and swapped nature stories, all in a communal celebration of the life that surrounds us and the ways we steward it. Bio4Climate is teaming up with the City of Cambridge (@cambridgemass) once again to plant a Miyawaki miniforest, and we’d love for you to join us! It’s a wonderful opportunity to nurture the web of life, support biodiversity, and create a vibrant green space for humans and non-humans alike.
