Dear OGR Community, It is with heavy hearts that the Omaha Girls Rock Board of Directors announces that our current programming will end on December 15. Despite the incredible efforts of our entire OGR community, the reality is that a shifting funding landscape, increased costs, and decreased grant capacity mean that maintaining the organization in this form is neither responsible nor financially possible. We are so proud and honored to be part of this OGR community - one that has encouraged young artists, created a safe space for future rock stars of all identities, and contributed to a more creative and revolutionary future. That work has been possible because of your support and more importantly, the support and dedication of our staff, our teaching artists, our volunteers, and our youth. This is not goodbye forever. We are moving forward with the hope that while OGR may no longer be the official organization you have loved over the years, our programming will soon continue with the support of another organization whose mission and values align with our own. Young artists deserve a safe, inclusive space to learn and create and we are dedicated to ensuring that space exists again in the near future. We invite you to celebrate OGR with us at our final Showcase on December 7 at our space in St. Paul’s at 5410 Corby Street. Board members will be available after the show to answer questions. If you cannot make it to the Showcase and have questions or concerns, please email the Board of Directors at board@omahagirlsrock.com.
