Whitney Barns Group

The Whitney Barns were built in 1901, by William C Whitney, and threatened with demolition in 2015. The Whitney Barns Group's mission is to save and restore the historic barns built in 1901 by Mr. W. C. Whitney in Aiken, South Carolina. The barns were considered state of the art at that time and are still considered to be today. This is because of the design to allow maximum airflow for the horses comfort and health especially in the hot South Carolina summers. The barns were threatened with demolition in 2015 and that is when the Whitney Barns Group was formed.
