A recent Gallup Poll of Pomona students and faculty tells a sad story. One key question was, “The climate on my campus prevents students and faculty from saying things they believe because others might find them offensive.” 88 % of the students agreed, while 63% of the faculty also agreed. College is a place to argue the world. One student, commenting anonymously, said, “I think a lot of people , including me, feel like if they say anything that goes against the surface level culture dogma, they could be socially shunned.”
