🧠 “It never crossed my mind, ‘Tiffany, at 36, you’re having a stroke in the middle of Lowe’s,’” shared stroke survivor Tiffany Butler at our recent Stroke Symposium. Thanks to the swift action of our teams at Sentara Obici Hospital and Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Tiffany’s life—and quality of life—were saved. Tiffany was one of four survivors who bravely shared their stories during a powerful day of education on the latest trends in stroke care, from emergency response to rehab therapies. Dr. Jodi Gehring, a vascular neurologist, emphasized how younger patients often face delays in diagnosis—but not at Sentara. Our telestroke team is among the best at identifying and treating stroke symptoms early, no matter the age.
