ArtBridge Projects -- Connects the Public to the Arts

ArtBridge transforms NYC construction fencing into free & accessible art exhibitions, embracing the potential for artists to be community-builders. connects the public to the arts art-bridge.org ArtBridge empowers emerging artists to transform urban spaces through community-engaged processes. New York City currently has a staggering 305 miles of street-level construction fencing. This ubiquitous construction corrodes the fabric of our city. ArtBridge transforms this eyesore into a canvas for local artists, focusing especially on artists whose identities/backgrounds have been historically marginalized. Our largest program is Bridging the Divide -- our artist fellowship program at public housing (NYCHA) developments. In which local artists work with public housing residents to design large-scale public artworks that amplify the voices of residents.

👀 Coming soon to scaffolding near you: Keiji Drysdale’s (@cageykeiji) Echoes in Time 🕰️✨ This AR-powered mural merges graffiti and technology to tell the story of Lower Manhattan—past, present, and future. Echoes in Time is an interactive mural that visually narrates the rich history of Lower Manhattan through a fusion of graffiti art and augmented reality (AR). It showcases iconic landmarks and cultural hubs, rendered in a vibrant graffiti style that reflects the dynamic energy of the streets where Keiji first honed his craft. Through AR, viewers can use their mobile devices to animate the mural, embodying the spirit of Lower Manhattan—a place where history and innovation coexist. ArtBridge is partnering with the Downtown Alliance (@downtownnyc) to turn Lower Manhattan’s construction fencing into large-scale art. 6 artists were selected to create artwork that features Lower Manhattan-specific imagery for installation on scaffolding, sheds and other fencing around Lower Manhattan. Swipe through to see some details of Keiji’s work for this project! . . . . . #KeijiDrysdale #CityCanvas #NYCStreetArt #NYCArt #NYCArtists #LowerManhattan #ArtBridgeProjects #PublicArt #ArtBridge (fb)

🎨 We are excited to share our completed installations at Adams Houses! Featuring the work of Bronx-based artists Lola Lovenotes (@lovenotes) and El Souls (@soulsnyc), the artworks were made in collaboration with NYCHA residents as part of our Bridging the Divide program. These vibrant, layered murals highlight the community of Adams Houses, as well as important cultural movements in Bronx history - hip hop and graffiti. Devised through community workshops in which residents were guided in creative practices, the resulting imagery reflects neighborhood stories through bold visual language that celebrates local voices. "A Window in Time" by Lola Lovenotes uses Taino and Adinkra African symbols to highlight the community's African-American population, while the portraits showcase South Bronx residents who were the cultural innovators during the 1960s-1980s. "Adams Story" by El Souls picks up where Lola Lovenotes left off, sharing the cultural history of the South Bronx from the 1990s to the present day, reflecting the diverse community in the neighborhood. #BridgingTheDivide #ArtBridgeProjects #BronxArt #PublicArt #AdamsHouses #NYCArt #NYCArtist #LolaLovenotes #ElSouls #SouthBronx 🎨🌆🎉 (fb)
