To help prevent CTE in future athletes and military service members. To provide a resource for understanding the disease, how it is caused, and how to stop it. To help prevent CTE in future athletes, military service members, and victims of domestic abuse. To provide a resource for understanding the disease, how it is caused, and how to stop it. #CTE #StopCTE #ChronicTraumaticEncephalopathy The Patrick Risha CTE Awareness Foundation was created in Patrick's memory to help prevent CTE and RHI in future athletes and veterans and provide a resource for understanding the disease, how it is caused, and its relevance in sports and the military. CTE is an acronym for chronic traumatic encephalopathy. It is progressive brain damage, which is caused by repeated head impacts (RHI). This insidious disease slowly and painfully destroys your brain. And it destroys the person in the process. This foundation seeks to save every beautiful mind, like Patrick's, and to give families the chance to understand what is happening if they are confronted with this horrific disease.
