South Carolina First Steps To School Readiness Board of Trustees
SECTION 59-152-10 OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA CODE ESTABLISHED THE SOUTH CAROLINA FIRST STEPS TO SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM, WHICH IS A COMPREHENSIVE, RESULTS-ORIENTED INITIATIVE FOR IMPROVING EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT BY PROVIDING, THROUGH LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE FUNDS, AND SUPPORT FOR HIGH- QUALITY EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATIONS SERVICES FOR CHILDREN BY PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR THEIR FAMILIES' EFFORTS TOWARD ENABLING THEIR CHILDREN TO REACH SCHOOL READY TO SUCCEED. OUR MISSION IS THAT EVERY SOUTH CAROLINA CHILD WILL ARRIVE AT KINDERGARTEN READY TO SUCCEED.

York County First Steps | York County, SC Learn how to help About First Steps Since its inception in 1999 First Steps has helped South Carolinas youngest children and their families get ready for school. As the states only entity focused exclusively on increasing school readiness outcomes NurseFamily Partnership York County First Steps became the Implementing Agency for the NurseFamily Partnership Program in early 2016 and we began to enroll first time mothers in late 2016. This program is one of the gold standards of nationally recognized evidenced based interventions with over 40 years of research and demonstrated outcomes. We operate under the name of York Regional NurseFamily Partnership and serve at risk first time mothers in the Chester Lancaster and York County Region.
