The foundation's mission is to serve as a resource for Watoga State Park and the public, enhancing the park's value and user experience. Key activities include:

• Playground Equipment: The foundation purchases and installs new playground equipment to improve recreational facilities for visitors.
• Interpretive Signs: It provides signs highlighting scenic, historic, and natural points of interest to enhance educational experiences.
• Trail Maintenance: Volunteers are organized to keep hiking trails in good condition, ensuring safe and enjoyable exploration for hikers.
• Dark Sky Events: The foundation hosts Dark Sky Star Watch Parties and educational programs. Watoga State Park is recognized as the first International Dark Sky Park in West Virginia, thanks to efforts like replacing most of the park's lighting fixtures.
• Event Sponsorship: It sponsors and facilitates the Mountain Trail Challenge Races, which include a 5K and half-marathon, held annually on the second Saturday of August.
• Restoration Projects: The foundation has overseen restoration projects, such as the pioneer-era Workman Cabin built in 1887.
• Solar Initiatives: Funds have been allocated for the installation of solar panels to heat the swimming pool, promoting sustainable practices.
