The YMCA of Hastings began with humble roots, initially operating from two rooms in downtown Hastings. By 1885, it had moved into a two-story brick building at 214 North Lincoln, which was later renovated in 1925. Women joined the organization in the 1950s, expanding its activities. The 16th Street location was opened in 1980, and in 2005, the YMCA merged with Champions Sports & Recreation, adding an 18th Street location.
