Pillows for Paws does this by donating enrichment items such as beds, toys, treats and food to the city shelter, Animal Care Centers of NYC on a monthly basis. When homeless animals come into a shelter, they are most likely experiencing abuse, neglect or abandonment. They are scared and confused and need to feel they are getting the support they need during this traumatic time in their lives. Pillows for Paws believes that the emotional well-being of these animals is a crucial factor in helping their overall health. The group is a 501(c)3 non-profit and is completely volunteer run.
