Normac is in Victoria Falls! He has had quite the journey, from Binga district to Victoria Falls and Botswana even! Our Victoria Falls team headed out to track him as we got a call from Isaac that he was nearby. Due to the thick bush, we were unable to see him during our tracking efforts, but were very close! We did see another elephant bull, as you can see in the distance in the video ☺️ It seems that Normac is together with a larger breeding herd at the moment. Nyasha the Elephant update! 🐘 We recently sighted Nyasha and her herd right by our research centre. Her herd consisted of 4 adult females, 2 subadult females and 4 yearly calves. Unfortunately we didn't manage to get any photos of them at this time due to the thick bush, so this image is one of her from a different sighting. Nyashas herd is of the first herds to return to the north of Chizarira. Most of the collared herds that ALERT is monitoring had moved to a woodland area consisting of acacias (Faidherbia albida) near the Chirisa/Chizarira boundary.
