For over 30 years, we have worked to reduce inequality, discrimination, and violence through the strengthening of democracies, protecting and promoting of human rights, and fighting the region’s rampant impunity. CEJIL currently represents more than 13,000 victims of human rights violations across the continent in over 22 countries. With over 220 ongoing cases, CEJIL’s beneficiaries vary from victims of state aggression, racial discrimination, and gender violence as well as vulnerable populations and groups frequently ignored by state governments such as Indigenous Peoples, and economically unstable communities.
