Rily’s dream come true! ✨🏰❤️🧚 Rily and her family traveled to Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and spent an unforgettable week at Give Kids the World Village! Here’s a glimpse into Rily’s magical experience, shared by her family: “From the moment we stepped off the plane at the Orlando airport, Rily was all smiles as the lovely volunteer from Give Kids the World greeted us with a sign displaying Rily’s name. We traveled to Give Kids the World Village and we were transported into a storybook setting and given a beautiful place to stay that truly felt like a home away from home. We were able to rest, relax, and enjoy a delicious dinner surrounded by such sweet volunteers who offered their help with anything from filling our drinks to carrying our food trays. We ate and were visited by characters representing the village. They gave Rily so many big warm hugs and “kisses.” It was truly so hard for me not to cry tears of joy! For the rest of the week we were able to enjoy visits to the Walt Disney World theme parks as well as Universal where Rily was given special attention and it literally felt like she was a celebrity as she flashed her special pass that allowed her to hop on every ride and meet every character with limited to no wait times; this really helped us maximize our time there. There was no shortage of smiles from all of us. Rily was truly the star of the show but we (Mom and Dad) were also very much supported and able to share in this special experience. It’s often difficult to find the silver lining with a chronic illness but this gift was truly one of the rare instances and we cannot thank everyone enough at the Dream Factory of Piedmont NC and Give Kids the World. Our family hopes to one day pay it forward by volunteering with both of these amazing organizations.
