Today's Auxiliary in Action is Auxiliary 2638 in Madison, South Dakota. Members assist Peaceful Pines Senior Living with the Lake County Food Pantry Backpack Program during the school year, unpacking the groceries and helping residents fill the bags. The bags are then taken to the schools so children have food to eat on the weekends. With a long weekend ahead and with child poverty and malnutrition on the rise across the nation, addressing food insecurity is of increasing urgency and importance, so it is wonderful to see one of our VFW Auxiliaries in Action taking steps to help feed children in need! #auxinaction #vfwaux #vfwauxiliary #auxiliaryinaction #auxiliariesinaction (fb)
