Aravind Eye Foundation is a non profit organization helping Aravind eyecare spread its mission of preventing needless blindness across developing nations Aravind Eye Foundation, formerly Friends of Aravind, was established in 2000 to help Aravind Eye Care System spread its sustainable model of highly efficient and effective eye care to India’s rural populations and other developing countries. Aravind Eye Foundation was established in 2000 to promote sustainable, high-quality, patient-centric eye care and eliminate needless blindness throughout the world. It does so by sharing best practices and facilitating partnerships with universities, social enterprises, other non-profits, and interested individuals and through its targeted investment in capacity building, community outreach, medical research, and patient support. Aravind Eye Foundation is part of the internationally renowned Aravind Eye Care System.

She loves to run after her big brother Diwakar. She first came to Aravinds Orbit Clinic when she was 12 days old for an eye checkup. Her parents had been told to have her checked regularly because her brother had retinoblastoma eye cancer three years earlier.
