The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution NSDAR or DAR began in 1890 and is a nonpolitical volunteer organization consisting of over 190000 members from across the globe headquartered in Washington DC in our House Beautiful. Today the South Carolina State Society Daughters of the American Revolution SCDARis over 4900 Daughters strong as each member can document her ancestry to a patriot who assisted in the cause of American independence during the Revolutionary War and has committed herself to the mission of our society for historic preservation education and patriotism.
