The Haven Shelter and Services, Inc. is committed to preventing and eliminating all types of domestic violence and sexual assault within our service area of Westmoreland, Richmond, Essex, Lancaster and Northumberland counties. A primary focus of The Haven's mission is to provide advocacy and shelter for identified victims of partner abuse and sexual assault as well as to provide support services to victims and their families. To further its mission, The Haven seeks to enhance public awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault through community outreach and education.

From September 22–25, join Every Choice Matters, a semi‑weeklong volunteer initiative that blends hands‑on giving with immersive learning to support survivors of intimate partner violence. Throughout the week, donate essential supplies: Canned food Non‑perishable snacks (granola bars, chips, pretzels, popcorn, Pop‑Tarts, crackers, fruit cups, applesauce pouches, juice boxes, mini waters) Then on Thursday, September 25, 11:00 AM–12:30 PM at The Haven Administrative Office (102 Walnut Street, Warsaw, VA), we’ll host a powerful immersive experience that uses storytelling to place participants in the shoes of survivors—showing the difficult choices Haven program participants often face.
