Shelby County Youth Assistance Program – Proactively building a healthy community for tomorrow by advocating for the youth of today Proactively building a healthy community for tomorrow by advocating for the youth of today Menu Welcome to the The Shelby County Youth Assistance Program serves as a voluntary early intervention and prevention advocacy process for youth ages 317 and families who have experienced challenging life circumstances. Children are referred to receive prevention services rather than formal discipline or adjudication. Youth are evaluated and referred for services based on eligibility and need. Children are referred by school counselors service providers families law enforcement or other agencies to receive prevention services rather than discipline or adjudication.
