Jessica’s journey at Saint Luke’s began almost three decades ago as a patient care tech, where phlebotomy quickly became her favorite skill. That interest led her to the outpatient lab at Saint Luke's East Hospital where she now plays an important role in supporting patients and providers. From greeting patients at the front desk to checking them in and transcribing doctors' orders, Jessica is often the first friendly face patients see. “The lab is really a customer service job,” she said. “We see some patients so often they feel like friends.” The most rewarding part for Jessica is delivering test results that give medical teams the answers they need to treat their patients. Jessica describes the lab as a fast-paced and ever-changing environment where multitasking is essential. “I’ve learned so much and met so many great people.
