Texas School for the Deaf-Parent Teacher Staff Organization

The corporation is organized for the purpose of enhancing and supporting the education of children at the Texas School for the Deaf by promoting open communication and understanding, collaboration, and unity between parents, teachers, and staff of Texas School for the Deaf. It is our belief that the team effort of a parent, teacher and staff organization offers the best possible learning environment for our children and this is accomplished by encouraging parental involvement and facilitating communication between parents, teachers, administration, staff and community.The organization sponsors volunteer assistance to teachers in the classroom setting, holds fundraisers for supplemental educational materials and experiences, supports school and family social interaction, provides student and family enrichment opportunities and provides a non-biased forum for sharing information on issues that impact our children.We are currently developing a literacy enrichment program, STEM enrichment program, Deaf Culture enrichment and Community Education Workshop program as well as several other projects.
