RISE by Sundara | Supporting Female Entrepreneurs OUR IMPACT Our Team Blog More Empowering women to repurpose soap to make their communities cleaner healthier and safer FROM WASTE TO TREASURE Sundara provides women from slum areas and tribal villages with their first formal employment as hygiene ambassadors. These women collect used soap from large hotel chains preventing it from ending up in landfills. The collected soap is cleaned in our workshops and then redistributed to communities along with essential hygiene education. THE PROCESS 1 Sundara hires local women to collect used bars of soap from large hotel chains.

✨ We’re excited to welcome Dr Annet to the Sundara team as our new Specialist WASH Fellow. Based in Rwanda, Annet is a medical doctor and public health professional with a strong background in maternal and child health, community engagement, and health systems strengthening. She’ll be supporting our programming in Rwanda, with a focus on expanding hygiene access and working alongside women-led initiatives.
