Bayou Bullies Rescue and Rehabilitation is a non - profit organization that was designed exclusively for the many breeds that are often overlooked by many.Bayou Bullies is a charitable and educational rescue that is dedicated to rehabilitating and re-homing these "bully" breed dogs. This rescue is classified as "no kill", meaning that any dog that comes into this organization will remain here until they find their forever home. There is a wide variety of dogs that fall under the category "bully breeds". Many of these dogs have unfair reputations of being aggressive- the most commonly known, the pit bull.As an organization it is our mission to:• Educating the public and bringing awareness to these breeds, their history, and their true temperament through community involvement. • Teaching the importance of responsible pet ownership.• Facilitating the rescue, rehabilitation, and the placement of the homeless bullies in our community.• Educating our community on positive ways to train their bully pups and helping with any behavioral problems.• Promoting the medical and ethical benefits to spaying/neutering your pets, as well as providing low cost resources for vet care to our low income bully owners.• Offering assistance to owners that are interested in their dogs becoming "Canine Good Citizens" or therapy dogs.• Supplying proper socialization, medical care and training to ensure successful placement in their forever homes.Most importantly, we here at Bayou Bullies Rescue and Rehabilitation want to be the voice to end all breed prejudice and animal misconceptions in our community.
