🎤 MEET THE SPEAKER: Vena Schexnayder, LMSW Advocating for healing, prevention, and change—right where the community needs it most. 💛🎰🧠 We’re honored to welcome Vena Schexnayder, LMSW, Founder and Executive Director of the Arkansas Problem Gambling Council, to the Talk That Heals Mental Health Forum on Thursday, May 29th at 7PM via Zoom. Vena Schexnayder is a dedicated clinician and passionate advocate with a community-centered mission. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Arkansas Problem Gambling Council, where she leads efforts to prevent and treat gambling addiction across the state. With over 15 years of experience in prevention and addiction services throughout the southern and eastern United States, Vena has become a trusted leader in the field. Her policy & advocacy efforts were instrumental during the 95th General Assembly, where she co-authored Arkansas House Bill 1847—the Self-Exclusion Bill—advancing responsible gambling practices and reinforcing protections for Arkansans. Vena holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University and a Master’s in Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is also certified in Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Counseling through Northern Virginia Community College. Nationally, she serves on the Board of Directors and as State Affiliate Chair for the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG). She is an advisory board member for the Arkansas Chapter of the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) and a member of the DraftKings Responsible Gaming State Council Funding Steering Committee. A dedicated clinician and passionate advocate, Vena is on a mission to raise awareness, break stigmas, and provide support for those impacted by gambling addiction across Arkansas.
