Resurf Project
The ReSurf Missionis to help underprivileged children all over the world through surfing. ReSurf equips community leaders with the necessary tools to reach and inspire their youth. We go to communities that request our program and conduct a weeklong leadership training. During our time in these communities, we help implement our sustainable mentorship model through our ReSurf Clubs. These clubs are run by our staff and eventually taken over by the participants as a continuing program that serves the community and its children for generations. What is a ReSurf Club? The ReSurf Club is a way for community leaders to mentor troubled youth and give them a sense of belonging, worth, and community. For many of the children we work with, these simple but invaluable life lessons have never been taught. ReSurf clubs are run in resource centers we build, called ReSurf Shacks. The Shacks store the 15-25 refurbished and decorated surfboards that we donate to the community center. We bring in desks and computers installed with all the latest graphic design and film editing software, as well as film equipment, cameras and Go Pros: all the tools that go with the culture of surfing. We help build confidence in our young leaders through workshops like oceanography, board repair, art, video production, and woodworking. The objective is to challengeOur GoalThere are many organizations run by some of the most inspirational leaders, all on a mission to help make the world a better place. ReSurf partners with these organizations and community leaders, providing these active and crucial role models with the tools to drive their kids toward a positive and productive life. Through mentorship programs, we encourage kids to stay in school and have a sense of community, giving them the foundation to make better life decisions.ReSurf AmbassadorsReSurf Ambassadors is a social service initiative. The mission is to help underprivileged children all over the world through surfing. The ambassador program targets students who are interested in art, film, photography, philanthropy, leadership, travel, and social service. The students will engage in equipment collection and repair, film making to create awareness, they will learn about how to fundraise and run a campaign and at then eventually build a local ReSurf surf club that will serve underprivileged children. The ambassadors will also have a option to help build up some of our other surf clubs that we have already established in Israel, Hawaii, South Africa, and Mexico. Helping to make the world a better place!
