Established 1986 Celebrating 35 years of service to the 60+ residents of Wyandotte County! The Shepherd's Center of Kansas City, Kansas (SCKCK), an affiliate of the Shepherd's Centers of America, was created based on the notion that after retirement, a person's skills could and should still be utilized. SCKCK exists because of the volunteer efforts that go into each of its programs, such as Creative Classes, Adventures in Learning, Minor Home Repair, Friends for Seniors, Peer Support, Support Groups, Prayer Shawl Ministries, and more. The volunteers of the Shepherd's Center promote a sense of community. Mission: The Shepherd's Center of Kansas City, Kansas is an interfaith, multicultural, nonprofit organization that promotes and supports successful aging. Vision: Building a community that connects, values, engages and celebrates older adults.
