We had an amazing gala last Saturday, celebrating the arts at Glen Echo Park and honoring Ilana Trachtman, Sunny Bajaj, and Karen Keating. Our incredible Gala Co-Chairs, Barbara & John Martin and Marsha Ashley & Dhani Jones, planned a spectacular night – it truly embodied “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” We were so pleased to have Lesli Foster as our emcee once again and to welcome some of our local politicians who support the Park and the arts unfailingly, including Maryland Senator Sara Love, Maryland Delegates Sara Wolek, Delegate Marc Korman, and Teresa S. Woorman. These District 16 representatives presented a check for $1.5 million to our board president, Ronda Keys, for the historic Spanish Ballroom. We also hosted Maryland State Delegate Gregory Wims; Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich (who presented the Advocacy Award); Montgomery County Councilmember Andrew Friedson (who presented the Artist Award), Councilmember Gabe Albornoz, and Councilmember Evan Glass; Montgomery County Board of Education President Julie Yang; Town of Somerset Mayor Jeffrey Zane Slavin; and The Honorable Connie Morella. #galainthepark Photos by Kaz Sasahara and Chris Ferenzi MORE PHOTOS TO COME (fb)
