Sixteenth Street Baptist Church Inc
We're a historic, life-giving church in the heart of Birmingham led by Rev. Arthur Price Jr. We strive to exalt, equip, & evangelize. On September 15, 1963, 16th Street Baptist was the target of the racially motivated bombing that kil Sixteenth Street Baptist Church is an active place of worship and a Civil Rights historical site. Its mission is to introduce people to Jesus Christ and to encourage the cultivation of a personal relationship with Him. We are, therefore, committed to Evangelizing the Sinner, Exalting the Savior, and Equipping the Saints. Its ministries – Christian Education, Fellowship, Youth Ministry, and Congregational Care. Tragically, Sixteenth Street Baptist Church is known throughout the world for the September 15, 1963, bombing that killed four young girls attending Sunday School and injured more than 20 other members of the congregation. The church is open to the public on weekdays for tours to experience the history of the church.
