History

The Masonic presence in Iowa began with early pioneers who settled in the area during the 1840s. The first Masonic meeting in the Iowa Territory was held on November 6, 1840, in Burlington, leading to the establishment of Des Moines Lodge № 41, Iowa Lodge № 42, Dubuque Lodge № 62, and Iowa City Lodge № 63. These lodges formed the foundation of the Grand Lodge of Iowa, A.F. & A.M., which was officially organized on January 9, 1844[1].

Mission and Activities

The organization aims to promote personal growth and community service among its members.
