THE MISSION OF THE CANAL MARKET DISTRICT AND ENTERPRISE HUB IS TO IMPROVE COMMUNITY ACCESS TO HEALTHY, LOCAL FOOD AND PROMOTE LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ROOTED IN LICKING COUNTY'S HISTORY, CULTURE AND LOCAL BOUNTY. IT WILL IMPROVE THE LIVELIHOOD OF LOCAL FOOD PRODUCERS AND ENTREPRENEURS, AND ENCOURAGE THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW FOOD-RELATED BUSINESSES AND JOBS.

The market is located at the historic Ohio Canal openair pavilion in downtown Newark Ohio MayOctober and the historic Newark Arcade indoor winter market NovemberApril. The atmosphere is full of energy and excitement with over 20000 annual shoppers chatting with farmers meeting artisans and becoming an active part of the community.
