We are a faith-based collaborative that empowers Northern Kentucky children and their families experiencing temporary homelessness to attain sustainable independence. History: The Interfaith Hospitality Network of Northern Kentucky, Inc. was created in 1993 by a group of concerned individuals and churches dedicated to caring for homeless families in the Northern Kentucky community. In October of 2011, the Board of Directors adopted a name change for the organization. The agency is now known as Family Promise of Northern Kentucky. Emergency Shelter: We partner with 50 churches from the community, 10 of which are “host” churches, serving as the physical location of shelter where families sleep each night. Volunteers from the host church and 40 support churches provide transportation, a hot meal, evening activities, and overnight hosts. Each morning, volunteers provide breakfast and a bag lunch. Families are then returned to our offices where they work with our Case Manager to seek employment, daycare, and permanent housing. Rapid Re-housing: We own a building that provides 3 apartment units and laundry facilities. Families who have achieved job security live in these apartments free of rent and utility expenses for 3 to 6 months while they pay off previous debt and save for a deposit or down payment on permanent housing. We are the only emergency shelter in Northern Kentucky that provides shelter and support services for the whole family. We have over 19 years of experience working with homeless families to help them regain their independence and improve their stability.
