She S.E.R.V.E.D Inc.
She S.E.R.V.E.D (Supporting, Enhancing and Restoring Veterans Every Day) is a non-profit organization developed to Support, Enhance and Restore Veterans. She S.E.R.V.E.D Inc., is a service driven, charitable 501 (c) (3) organization developed to Support, Enhance and Restore Veterans Every Day. Intentionally founded on Veterans Day 2014, She S.E.R.V.E.D Inc., was designed to keep within the tradition of honoring and thanking women veterans for their dedicated and loyal service to their country and to ensure they know that we deeply appreciate the sacrifices they have made in their lives to keep our country free. Incorporated on 14 November 2014, She S.E.R.V.E.D Inc., had its humble beginnings as the vision of Jennifer Berry, an Army veteran and military spouse. Although She S.E.R.V.E.D Inc., caters to women veterans, we will not leave ANY of our battle buddies behind, meaning any veteran in need of assistance will be helped. She S.E.R.V.E.D Inc., was established with the understanding that with the increased and extent of female service members' involvement in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), in terms of both the number of women deployed and the scope of their involvement, is unprecedented. (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, 2010) Although enormous progress has been made over the past 30 years in expanding the role of women in the military, including service in combat zones; services needed to assist our women veterans once they return home is little to none or unavailable, resulting in their frustration. Women veterans not only deal with limited, gender-specific services, but also often times deal with not being recognized as true veterans. Many of the issues encountered by women veterans during service has resulted in them being discharged from the military requiring them to often times seek employment in the civilian sector-another hurdle. She S.E.R.V.E.D Inc., vision is to become a buffer for female veterans by ensuring that all interpersonal stressors experienced during and post deployment such as Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following combat exposure, Sexual Assault, Sexual Harassment, Unemployment & Underemployment; Homelessness and all transitional, readjustment and emerging issues are highlighted and advocated for so they no longer go unnoticed for women veterans.
