MOMS Offering Moms Support (MOMS) Club® began in 1983 by an at-home mother in California. She decided she was tired of being alone at home and wanted to meet other at-home mothers with other at-home children for her children to play with. When she discovered there were no other organizations that met during the day and allowed her to come with her baby and preschooler, she decided to start a brand new organization for at-home mothers, and the MOMS Club® was born. The chapter she started was so successful, she knew mothers in other areas must be needing the MOMS Club®, too. Soon she and other volunteers were helping mothers start MOMS Clubs® across the country and around the world. There are now 1,500+ chapters in the US alone. Our chapter is a local chapter of MOMS Club® for North Las Vegas. We offer a variety of activities for moms and their children each week. These activities include park days, tours, craft projects, playgroups, opportunities for leadership experience, Meals for Moms, MOMS Nights Outs, and a variety of other family friendly activities. Children are welcome at all our events with the exception of our once a month MOMS Nights Out (or sometimes In!). On those nights we get together for a few hours, just the moms. Examples of recent MOMS Nights Out/In include Artful Potter, Movie and Drinks, As Seen on TV Party, Game Night and Laser Tag.MOMS Club® of NLV also participates in community service projects. We have held fundraisers and collection drives to support local charities such as SafeNest, Three Square™, and NV Partnership for Homeless Youth. Examples of projects we currently have in the works are homemade cards for hospitalized children, a food drive, a clothing drive, Toys for Tots drive, and volunteering a day at Three Square™. We pride ourselves on being able to give back to our community, whether it's with money, with goods, or with time.We collect dues of $25 yearly from all members, renewable in the month you joined. This can easily be reduced or waived if your family is experiencing financial hardship. These funds are used to support our chapter by paying for flyers, room rentals, financing events, craft supplies, registration dues, etc. They also help support the charities we select as a group. The MOMS Club® is a nonprofit corporation and a 501 (C) (3) publicly-supported charity registered with the IRS.
